The role of the Technical Manager is to undertake the following overall responsibilities

  • Ensure that project specific processes within the HS2 Quality Management System (QMS) are implemented, and all records maintained
  • Ensure sufficient resources are available when required to perform all Quality Related Activities at sites supplying materials into the project, including but not restricted to Tytherington Quarry, Appleford Depot, Kidlington Depot, West Drayton Coal Yard Depot and customer sites.
  • Provide test reports in a timely manner to senior project management.
  • Ensuring conformity with customer, client and regulatory requirements relating to quality management, and where necessary prevent the incorporation of non-conforming product into the works.
  • Carry out training and coaching to technical and operational staff within the project as required.
  • Liaise with the external assessment bodies (UKAS) on all matters relating to product testing and calibration
  • Establish and develop relationships with all key client and contractors aligned to the project.
