Job description
As Head of IT Infrastructure, you will lead on the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the CMA�s cloud and on-premises IT infrastructure and services, managing a team of four infrastructure specialists and engineers to assist with the implementation of technical solutions.
You will develop engineering roadmaps for technologies and services, ensuring plans are future-proofed and offer maximum value. You will also lead on the design, configuration, testing, implementation and maintenance of cloud-based server, storage and compute solutions, ensuring they pass regularly conducted audits and penetration tests.
You will oversee infrastructure performance and the security of server, software, storage and network hardware, as well as managing server and storage infrastructure performance and costs. Working with third parties and colleagues from across the CMA, you will also be expected to provide expert guidance and leadership within the CMA Architecture governance forums (ARB, CAB and Technical Steering Groups).
This role offers the chance to work with the latest, cutting-edge technology, which includes onsite HCI infrastructure, Azure based IaaS and Unified Communications. We work with predominantly cloud based technologies including hybrid Azure Entra ID, Office 365, E5 and various other supporting technologies including Windows Server 2022, WVD, Hyper V, SQL and Sophos.

Essential:
Significant experience of IT infrastructure and System Design including designing, implementing, testing, administering and supporting infrastructure technologies, solutions and services, particularly cloud based, including Entra ID, Hyper-V, IIS, Exchange Hybrid, ADFS, PKI, SCVMM, AO VPN, RADIUS, SQL, and Domain Services. (lead criteria)Experience in information security and the types of security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services with a strong focus on cloud security and implementing remediations to vulnerabilities.�(lead criteria)Experience in initiating and monitoring actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems, including 3rd line escalations, consulting specialists where required and assisting with implementation as well as preventative measures.Experience in technical concepts required in the role and understand how these fit into the wider technical landscape. Confident in making strategic recommendations and decisions.Advanced knowledge and skill in programming and scripting languages especially PowerShell and above.Evidence of keeping yourself up to date with knowledge of future developments in Cloud computing (Microsoft Azure and AWS knowledge preferred) and experience of re-platforming and transformation.Effective stakeholder management and development skills and proven ability of communicating to both technical and non-technical audiences.Behaviours
