Principle Teacher
Balgreen Primary School

Salary: £52,
Hours: 35 per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Teacher Balgreen Primary School. The post will commence from 12th August . We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and enthusiastic with leadership and management experience.

The successful candidate should have a proven track record of providing high quality learning and teaching, be skilled in raising attainment through strong practice in planning and assessments and inspire pupils to achieve their full potential.

The candidate should have relevant experience of building nurturing and supportive relationships with pupils, leading initiatives, supporting colleagues and collaborative working.

It is desirable that the candidate has experience in collaborating with professionals through the Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach to ensure that the needs of every child are met with pupil wellbeing at the heart.

In addition to the teaching commitment for this post, you will play a key role in the school leadership team and have additional responsibility including curriculum development, policy development and promoting leadership at all levels.

Experience should include:

Management and guidance of colleagues including CPD needs, career development and performance management where appropriate Implementation of whole school policies dealing with pastoral care, assessment and pupil welfare Teaching assigned class together with associated planning, preparation and correction. Assessing, recording, reporting pupil work and providing guidance to pupils regarding their education Promoting and safeguarding the health, care, welfare and safety of pupils Working in partnership with support staff, parents and other professionals to support pupils’ need Participating in issues related to school planning, raising attainment and contributing to the wider life of the school

Balgreen Primary School sits in the heart of the local community. Our catchment draws families from diverse demographic backgrounds providing a vibrant and unique ethos of which we are proud. At Balgreen, we are committed to providing a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to approach life and learning with confidence.

The school is led by a management team consisting of a Head Teacher, a Depute Head Teacher and a Business Manager. There are fourteen classes led by a mix full time and part time class teachers and two Support for Learning Teachers. Management and teachers are all ably supported by a team of Pupil Support Assistants, a Nurture Pupil Support Officer, a part time School Administrator and a clerical assistant and a Facilities Technician.
