What can I expect?

We have an exciting Engineering Apprenticeship opportunity to join our Manufacturing Team.As an Engineering apprentice, you will start your apprenticeship working with Focus Factory Production Teams , learning about our products and processes . You will then move around different technical areas across the Manufacturing Department before specialising in your fourth and final year.

You will be studying towards the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship (level 3) . This apprenticeship will include alternating shift patterns of 6:00AM - 2:00PM and 2:00PM -10:00PM.

The purpose of our Manufacturing Team is to produce high-quality products, while continually improving efficiency and flexibility . Our engineering teams work to keep our production equipment operating as well as implement improvements to increase our productivity.

Working in our Engineering Team s in Manufacturing , you will develop the following skills.

  • Work safely and responsibly - you will get involved with electrical and electronic work and as well perform mechanical tasks .
  • Work as part of a team to find root cause faults within our equipment and repair.
  • Develop methods to ensure faults do not reoccur in the future .
  • Support new and current automation and digital applications in the factory .
  • Communicate with people across the factory to give progress updates about maintenance activities
  • Work flexibly across different areas of the factory.
  • Train operations colleagues in machine Preventative Maintenance requirements

Minimum educational requirements:

You will have achieved or be on track to achieve at least 5 GCSE's grade 4 or above including M aths and E nglish language . Our ideal candidate will have a passion for working with technology and will be keen to pursue a career in engineering.
