About The Role

Salary:  £13.65 - £13.87 per hour (inclusive rate) 
Working Pattern:  Part-time - 24 hours per week
Contract Length: Permanent
Location:  Tozer House, Chichester

About Tozer House

Within this role you will get to see the difference your cooking skills and the right diet and family favourite dishes for the individuals has on the people we care for and how this helps them feel more at home.

The role not only involves preparing, cooking and serving of meals you create, but the opportunity to help the people we support to live the lives they want to lead. The menus are planned with the people to meet their individual needs and preferences. In addition to the main menu plan we also have special events to host through the year such as parties to celebrate special occasions like Christmas and birthdays that you will be encouraged to show your personal creative side.

As a Cook, you will:

Have the opportunity to be creative and design menus ranging from daily meals to theme days Manage health and safety standards Maintain food hygiene procedures & risk assessments Ensure the kitchen is maintained to a high standard Order goods within a budget Keeping accurate records and stock control Coordinate agency Cooks and Kitchen Assistants (if required)

Experience and skills  (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)

Good communication & interpersonal skills to take messages etc. Good literacy and numeracy skills to complete records, design menus and returns as required. Able to organise & prioritise work, co-ordinate a variety of tasks in a clear and logical way, and meet agreed deadlines. Sensitive to the needs of the people. Competent in the preparation of food varied in nature to a high standard. Ability to purchase food ingredients for the home.
