POST:  Lunchtime Play Co-ordinator

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Principal

SALARY:  OCL SCP 02 (£23656 pro rata) (£ per hour) (Plus, Local Government Pension Scheme)

LOCATION:  Oasis Academy Henderson Avenue

WORKING PATTERN:  10 hours per week across lunchtime – term time only

CONTRACT:  Permanent

DISCLOSURE LEVEL:  Enhanced DBS with Barred List Check

JOB PURPOSE:

To co-ordinate the development of lunchtime play. To develop and maintain a safe and stimulating play setting and to encourage child centered play.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

To develop and encourage good team working. To enable children to engage in a range of play opportunities allowing for safe risks and challenges. To develop and maintain positive relationships with children, and team members. To be responsible for children’s safety and wellbeing at all times. To ensure that the play environment, including equipment and resources, is prepared and ready in time for the arrival of children at lunchtime To use observation, reflective practice to assess and plan for the individual play needs and development of the children. To support in developing a play environment which is inclusive for all and recognises and encourages diversity. To plan activities, order and purchase equipment, consumables and materials for lunchtime play. To provide welfare support to the students in the school. This will include undertaking minor first aid duties (subject to training) and assisting students with personal hygiene. To undertake any other duties as reasonably directed by the school.
