This is an exciting time to join us, the future of Adult Safeguarding at East Riding is changing. We have just launched a new service delivery model and are looking for experienced professionals to be the change makers that will drive our agenda forward, preventing and protecting people from abuse or neglect. As an authority we want to make the East Riding the best it possibly can be and we want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.

The Ambition of the SAFEGUARDING ADULT HUB is to Supports adults to maintain safe and happy lives free from abuse and neglect. Our safeguarding adult’s hub receives all incoming safeguarding adults concerns within our local authority area. We operate a 4 stage model where our hub practitioners triage and make decisions about all incoming concerns and take a whole service and system wide approach to the completion of S42 enquiries to ensure people are supported through a safeguarding enquiry by the right people, at the right time.

The role of safeguarding team manager is to lead and manage a team of senior social workers to ensure that all operational practices of the team are of high quality and in line with the Council’s policies and procedures and meets national and local standards.

The postholder will take operational responsibility for service delivery and taking decisions in complex cases and risk.

The team manager role will be undertaken by managing performance and quality assurance, resources, and budgets, in collaboration with others and key stakeholders. The team manager will be knowledgeable about adult safeguarding and managing social workers and others within single or multi-professional teams.

The team manager will contribute and support the development of practice, procedures and policy and specifically the professional development of the staff within the team they lead. The team manager will lead on embedding Making Safeguarding personal across practice in the team and beyond to ensure that service users strengths and participation is key to safeguarding planning and decision making.

The team manager will seek to ensure team experience influences and inform the work of the organisation and that of other service areas, supporting and managing change as needed within their area of responsibility.

Professional support -It is important for us that our social workers have manageable workloads, supportive and transparent leadership and the opportunity for continuous professional development. Our Principal Social Worker oversees our practice development team and learning and skills offer for social workers ensuring we are adaptive and responsive to the needs of our social work workforce and work collaboratively with our social workers to achieve excellence.

To take an active role in supporting the regulation of Social Workers with Social Work England, we pay and support your professional registration fees.

Working environment -The Safeguarding Adults Hub are located at the councils headquarters, County Hall in Beverley where we have access to a modern and comfortable workspace.
