The candidate will serve as an innovative and strategic leader responsible for establishing and advancing the NLB Academy to cultivate robust capabilities and talent pipelines in the local, regional, and international libraries and archives domain. He/she will oversee the professional development of librarians and archivists with a vision of elevating the NLB Academy to be the thought leader in training and development in the library and archives world.

[What you will be working on]

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

·        Set and review the NLB Academy’s strategic goals with clear deliverables and outcomes, aligning with NLB’s overarching strategic direction.

·        Collaborate with relevant divisions within NLB to facilitate the setup of the NLB Academy.

·        Design and deliver relevant learning programmes, including overseas exchange opportunities to uplift the professionalism of library and archives communities based on determined capability gaps. 

·        Source and build a sustained pool of trainers for the NLB Academy, ensuring the availability of qualified professionals to deliver high-quality training programs aligned with the Academy's strategic objectives.

·        Promote NLB Academy’s services to meet domestic, regional, and international training needs.

·        Oversee the day-to-day operations of the NLB Academy and provide guidance on program development and implementation.

[What we are looking for]

·        Proven track record with at least 15 years of relevant experience in Continuing Education and Training, professional development, or equivalent setting, including at least 10 years in leadership roles.

·        Passionate about current and emerging trends in library and information science, continuous education, and professional development.

·        Driven, creative, and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

·        Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

·        Demonstrated ability to effectively manage business priorities, employee relationships, and stakeholders’ needs.

The successful applicant will be appointed on a two-year contract.
