What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities for the Deputy Team Manager Role

Lead on the day to day running of the team and having oversight/responsibility of the teams' progress, reporting any complexities to the Team Manager or in their absence the Service Manager in a timely manner to ensure discharges are progressed and delays minimised.

Establishing day-to-day practice of the team, ensuring the service responds to the needs of the individual in a timely manner that is in keeping with policies, procedures and the law.

Leading on PTL updates and attending daily meetings with health colleagues on the progress of discharges.

Support with the implementation and develop/review the team plan to facilitate the teams' learning needs and goals as a team. Quality assure the work of the team, providing timely and supportive feedback to colleagues.

Use Power BI and other reporting/recording systems accurately, to generate reports on the progress of the team and wider service.

Comply and implement policies and procedures, alongside undertaking effective performance management approaches.

Working in collaboration with the team manager and system partners to facilitate timely and effective discharges and reviews.

To inspire, lead, manage and nurture a team of professionals (Social Workers and Adult Support Coordinators) that can operate independently and autonomously enabling successful outcomes and needs of Cambridgeshire Citizens innovatively and creatively to meet the needs of Cambridgeshire citizens.

Building positive relationships with system partners and to build effective and creative relationships via partnership working.

Engage with system partners via the home first delivery board to ensure services are developed, supported and implemented.

Advocate for the team to utilise independent sector providers to support with discharge planning

Effective management of resources and budgets and quality assurance of work undertaken within the South Transfer of Care Team

Act as the lead manager in complex / high profile safeguarding cases to maintain and support patient flow and to represent the Local Authority within a multi-disciplinary setting

Utilisation of data tools enabling presentation of complex information to senior managers on the performance of the service.

Provide day to day management and direct line management to colleagues.

About you

You must be a registered Social Worker with experience of managing people and performance. You will also have experience of leading and managing change. The successful candidate will have the ability to influence the workings of other services and you will be a skilled communicator who can work with competing demands for services.

You will be comfortable with supporting and managing a team who will work located in other bases/home who are undertaking assessments to support safe appropriate discharges to the community.
