Community Care Officer

The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub Adults Team is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join the team as a Community Care Officer. The post is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience in adult social care and is interested in working as part of a busy multi-disciplinary team, safeguarding adults at risk of abuse or neglect. If you’re interested in working in a fast paced, supportive, non-visiting team, to safeguard adults across Nottinghamshire County, this may be the role for you.
The role involves:
Speaking with adults at risk of abuse or neglect, or their representatives via phone or video calls, to ascertain their views and wishes, and offer support. Gathering information from multiple sources and analysing this information to assess and reduce risks to adults experiencing abuse or neglect. Information sharing and communicating with a range of agencies such as police and health, as well as internal Nottinghamshire County Council services such as adult social care community teams.In addition, you will:
Be adaptable to changing policies and processes within adult social care that shape the way that the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub Adults Team operate. This includes opportunities to be involved in the development and evolution of how the team operates. Be able to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team, across a multiagency service. Engage in team meetings, reflective sessions, and team support sessions to increase your own knowledge and skills, as well as supporting others to develop theirs. Feel confident to seek appropriate advice and guidance where needed from colleagues and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for adults at risk.You will need to have:
At least 2 years’ experience of working in adult social care Experience of operating as part of a team Experience of independently managing and prioritising tasks to meet objectives Experience of working at pace and dealing with multiple demands An ability to gather appropriate and proportionate information An understanding of risk and impact and implications of risk Excellent recording skills Excellent communication, organisational and IT skillsIn return for your commitment, we will provide a supportive team environment with access to developmental opportunities within the team and through Nottinghamshire County Council learning and development, weekly support from colleagues, and monthly team meetings. You will receive regular supervision and be supported in the ongoing development of the role of Community Care Officer.
