The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in liaising with various departments, including transport, workshops, sales, and management, to ensure high vehicle standards, adherence to maintenance schedules, and regulatory compliance are maintained.

Transport Manager Responsibilities:

Initiate and implement solutions to operational challenges, thereby enhancing the company's efficiency and profitability. Manage daily fleet operations, including transport planning, to guarantee optimal performance and profitability. Work collaboratively with the transport team, workshops, sales, and management to maintain vehicle standards, maintenance, staffing needs, and regulatory compliance. Ensure that vehicles meet the company's standards and liaise with contractors for required services and repairs. Strictly adhere to driving regulations, working time directives, and all relevant company policies and legislative requirements. Oversee depot operations, focusing on their effectiveness, efficiency, and cleanliness.

Transport Manager Requirements:

A solid educational foundation. Qualifications in transport operations (CPC National/International or equivalent). Demonstrated experience in managing transport or supply chain operations. Knowledge of the removals and storage industry would be advantageous. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing demands. In-depth understanding of transport regulations. The ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment. IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel. A committed, reliable, and adaptable team player. The ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines efficiently. Possession of a full UK Driving Licence is essential.
