Join the friendly team at Moncreiffe Primary school to support children with additional support needs (ASN) to achieve their best each and every day.
You will need a kind and caring manner and an understanding of nurturing approaches.
In this Primary School Support Worker role, you will work as part of a team supporting children and young people who have additional support needs to access learning under the direction of other members of the team.
Children and Young People can have a range of needs that can be short lived or more long term. These, at different points in their education may require additional support.
This role is varied and may include supporting children and young people who present with needs which may include:
- Social and Emotional
- Learning
- Communication
- Physical
- Personal Care.
Some children may present with distressed and challenging behaviour as a result of these needs. You may have a role in supporting positive behaviour management programmes and individual support plans.
You will be working in a variety of settings as some work may be nursery or school based whilst other supports may involve activities in the community e.g. horse riding or outdoor learning.
As part of the school team you will support lunchtimes and playtimes.

We seek a friendly and open person to join our Support Staff Team at Moncreiffe Primary.
You need to be supportive and empathetic. Being patient and able to hold boundaries to provide care and stability is essential for our learners.
A desire to learn and continue to develop your skills is required.

- A genuine interest in the development of children and their wellbeing.
- Kindness, Empathy, patience and an ability to engage with children and young people.
- Confidentiality in relation to children, young people and their families.
- Experience (paid/voluntary) of supporting children and young people with additional support needs.
