Elective Home Education Officer
Details about the role
We are pleased to be recruiting an Elective Home Education (EHE) Officer. The post holder will be part of the EHE Team which leads on discharging Norfolk County Council’s statutory duties in relation Children being educated at home. You will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to parents regarding provision of a suitable education and ensuring children are safe at home. You will have responsibility SEND and EYFS.
Who you will work alongside
You will work with families, schools, other education colleagues, partner agencies and other Local Authorities as part of their advice and guidance work in supporting children’s education at home.
Joining the Education Quality Assurance and Intervention Service will give you an opportunity to be part of an innovative team that makes a difference to the education and safeguarding of children in Norfolk. Working in our Service will give you the opportunity to influence and provide support and challenge so that Norfolk children and young people receive the very best from their education.

Key skills required
We are looking for a qualified Teacher with experience of supporting young people with SEND. In this role, you will work closely with EHCP Coordinators, schools and families. Additionally, you will work with other Local Authorities and agencies to ensure that home educated children are educated in accordance with legislation, national guidance and local procedures.
We are looking for a highly organised person with strong communication skills who can offer appropriate support to families and liaise with other agencies.
