About the Role

The Digital Product Team are responsible for developing the teaching, learning and assessment capabilities of ELT digital services to ensure the OUP ELT division delivers market winning products and services for their customers.

The UX Writer role is responsible for providing clear and consistent text and guidance for users to navigate ELT's digital services more easily. The UX Writer also maintains the ELT style guide and UX writing guidance documentation to ensure a consistent style and tone of voice across OUP ELT platforms. In collaboration with the wider Digital Product team, and stakeholders in the ELT division, the UX Writer is responsible for researching and writing help and support content for strategic platforms and content driven interactions across a customer journey.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Write user interface text for strategic platforms
  • Develop a collaborative working relationship across cross functional teams
  • Work with Product Design colleagues to help to shape optimal user journeys to ensure language is clear, accessible and consistent with the established OUP ELT style
  • Collaborate with Digital Product Managers to capture the benefits of new capabilities to teachers, learners and institutions and highlight these in customer help and support content
  • Research and write documentation as digital capabilities evolve
  • Localise help content to support ELT markets in collaboration with sales and marketing colleagues
  • Review help web analytics, customer service data and conduct user research to inform priorities to improve customer journeys
  • Coordinate activities with sales, marketing, customer support and product management so updates are timely for markets, and improvements validated by feedback.
  • Participate in Digital Product team activities around continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and best practice in product management.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Essential:
  • Experience of writing copy for consumer websites
  • Knowledge of customer journeys
  • Knowledge of UX writing best practice
  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements
  • Experience of conducting user research
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multiple stakeholders

Desirable:
  • Experience of writing for non-Native English speakers
  • Experience of delivering training
  • Knowledge of ELT markets
