Join our growing team at Magenta Insurance as an Underwriting Support Specialist. This role is perfect for individuals with experience in household or property insurance, but don't worry if you're new to the field. If you have excellent customer service and administration skills, we're ready to train you.
Within a highly supportive team, you will be expanding your insurance experience with the opportunity to gain professional qualifications and forming part of an industry leading insurance broker with more than 2,000 staff and 75 offices in the UK and Ireland.
What You'll Do
As part of our team, you'll provide efficient and effective technical and administrative support to our underwriting teams. This role offers real responsibility and the opportunity to progress into a technical and underwriting role if desired.
Who are we?
magenta insurance is a Chartered Insurance Underwriting Agent with nearly 30 years' experience in the market. We underwrite predominantly non-standard and distressed residential property policies, providing solutions that others find difficult to place..
We deal mainly with brokers and IFAs who approach us for cover on behalf of their clients, but also hold a number of direct client risks.
The job
This very interesting and varied role arises due to internal promotion and involves:
- Ensure accurate underwriting data is captured on systems to minimize risk and ensure high quality output of information
- Support underwriting through general administration to ensure delivery of a professional service
- Field both internal and external phone calls from Brokers and clients
- Develop your technical knowledge to take on more complex tasks over time
We're looking for a self-motivated individual with a drive to succeed. You should be a good communicator with an eye for accuracy. You'll need to work closely with a fast-paced team of professionals and demonstrate either current insurance knowledge or good customer and admin skills.
We are strong supporters of continued professional development and will assist you in studying for professional CII qualifications and the job training.
You will be working alongside a settled and experienced team that enjoys welcoming new talent into the company, and helping them succeed.
What will your other responsibilities include?
- Field incoming phone calls to the Existing Business area, identify which calls can be resolved, and which need to be passed on to an underwriter.
- Develop an understanding of the policy cover for the entire magenta insurance product suite.
- Running daily print procedures for emailing documents as well as printing documents, and preparing the post.
- Complete renewal chasing process to ensure retention is as high as possible and clients and Brokers are aware of their renewal
- Making contact with clients who pay annually to collect their premiums and secure the business.
- Chasing broker partners by email on the status of cover extensions and for information required to quote.
- Create and edit documents manually as required
In April 2022, Aston Lark became part of Howden, the international insurance broking group. Joining our team means you'll be part of a unique business with a range of opportunities for current employees and new talent.
