About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Property Underwriter to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for negotiating with brokers, assessing risk, and developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate with brokers to assess risk and underwrite policies in line with company procedures.
  • Deal with new business enquiries within allocated authority level and in accordance with the company's underwriting guide.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients.
  • Utilize available actuarial information, statistics, and underwriting experience to make informed decisions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to forge strong relationships with brokers.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Property Underwriting or 1 year in non-standard property underwriting.
  • Good understanding of Residential Property Insurance, Property Insurance Sales and/or Underwriting, and General Understanding of Property Insurance Claims.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, problem-solving, and an eye for detail.
  • Computer literate and thorough understanding of the Trading Platform.
