As Warehouse/Logistics Manager at NOV Process and Flow Technologies in Manchester you will provide leadership, drive and direction for all the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering shift-based Warehouse, Goods received, Packing and Logistics department.

Leading the team in our safe environment, putting safety first, your daily tasks of ensuring picking rates are achieved and maintaining accurate stock in line with needs of our upstream and downstream partners and most importantly delivery the customer orders on time and in full.

You will be accountable for managing warehouse, packing and logistics employee's and training needs and develop an effective team and utilise innovation to achieve business goals and continuous improvement throughout the department.

What We're Looking For:

We seek someone with solid strategic and operational experience within an engineering warehouse and logistics area. You will need excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of urgency and customer focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate the warehouse and logistics team, prioritizing safety and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all company policies regarding health & safety, quality requirements, and housekeeping are met and improved upon.
  • Collaborate with associates to achieve warehouse objectives and KPIs, maintaining accurate inventory and cycle counts.
  • Manage manpower levels, ensuring optimal staffing across all departments.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations.
  • Address and resolve departmental quality issues and concerns.
  • Coach and develop a competent team through performance management and effective communication.
  • Oversee logistics, dispatch, and packing areas to meet daily targets and ensure timely and complete customer order dispatch.
  • Maintain cost control within budget parameters.
  • Drive improvements in service levels and operational efficiency.


Key Projects & Initiatives:

  • Transitioning the stores to a one-part, one-location system and developing improvements.
  • Supporting Supervisors and Staff in system enhancements.


Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in inventory management, dispatch, and logistics.
  • Strong management background in a logistics and warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Lean Logistics and Warehouse principles.


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with JDE ERP systems.
