Our Service
This role is based within the Disabled Children's Service. (DCS). We offer assessment, planning, intervention and review for disabled children and young people who need specialist knowledge and support to meet their social care needs.

We support children and young people throughout their childhood, working closely with partner agencies such as health and education colleagues to ensure our children and their families receive the right support, at the right time.

Our social work teams support children/young people and their families across the whole spectrum of social work intervention, from child in need planning through to providing accommodation or identifying additional care. This allows us to build and maintain relationships with our children/young people and their families, which in turn, helps us secure better outcomes for our children and young people.

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and innovate individual to join our service in a fast-paced role that demands creativity, attention to detail, proficiency around finances, excellent partnership working, and strong organisational skills. As a key member of the wider DCS team, you will work closely with social workers and other team members to take part in and oversee financial process, as well as map, identify, signpost and liaise with services that can provide support to our children, young people and their families. Some of your work will be guided by plans written by the social worker, and some of your work will be self-motivated.

This is a county-wide role where you will work across four social work team, while being line managed by a team manager and an advanced social worker based in North. You will be invited to attend team meetings in North, but will also have the opportunity to attend team meetings for the other team regularly.

The role lends itself to agile working, with opportunities to work flexibly across a number of locations in Devon, as well as some home working.

This is a new role and offers the opportunity to work together to develop the role to meet the needs of our social work team, as well as our families.

We are keen to develop this role in the future, and as we move forward, we may expand the role to include involvement in assessments, reviews and planning for our families.

Support
North is a well-established team that understands the direction of our improvement and development work. It can provide a firm foundation for this new and exciting role.

You will be offered full training and support to understand DCC’s processes and structures, and will be offered regular supervision and appraisals to support your learning and development.
