Senior Traffic Dispatcher - Tankers

Location - Wednesbury Hazardous Waste Depot (WS10 7NR)

A quick look at the role.

The Senior Traffic Dispatcher will manage the Dispatchers within the Hazardous Waste team at our Wednesbury Office while ensuring the business operates with exceptional parameters, ensuring the business remains fully compliant at all times and conducting disciplinary procedures as and when required. The role holder will be involved in the National Planning function when required and may step in for the Depot Manager and other members of the team when required.

  • Day to day management of operational staff in order to achieve best in class service delivery.
  • Ensure the business remains fully compliant, EU Drivers Hours Regs / RTD etc.
  • Conduct Fleet Audits minimum of 2 per depot per year
  • Conduct any type of performance management / disciplinary as and when required.
  • Assist with the integration / smooth running of the central planning function.
  • Conduct Annual performance reviews with all dispatchers.
  • Ensure divisional KPI'S are met on a monthly basis.
  • Develop & Mentor Dispatchers.
  • Seek continuous improvement in order to maintain operational excellence.
  • Provide cover for national manager when required.


Here's what we require:
  • Experience of a position of similar responsibility in Services or Logistics industry.
  • Waste Industry knowledge is desirable while knowledge of hazardous waste would be advantageous.
  • Local geographical knowledge.
  • Good transport / logistics knowledge.
  • The ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision and, most importantly, play well with others.
  • People Management experience would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, time critical environment.
