Childrens Practitioner-Stronger Families Team

Ilkeston, United Kingdom Derbyshire County Council Full time

The postholder will be a key member of a specialist team focusing on the prevention of family breakdown by using systemic and social learning theory to provide evidence based interventions. The team will work with predominantly parents and their families where there is a risk of a child/children entering into care or there is the potential to return home from care, when safe to do so. They will work directly with families providing the required support to build relationships, resilience and safety so that the child can remain or return home to their family networks.

Furthermore, there will be an element of crisis intervention where you will be required to work with children, parents and their families to stabilise & support the home environment to prevent an immediate risk of breakdown within the family and to rebuild the relationship. This will be on a rota basis and this will include evenings and weekends.

The service is county wide; however, you will be linked in with either the North or South team.

We are currently recruit to 2 positions which will all be based in the South Team. These are 2 posts for 18 months fixed term initially.
