PART 2 - MAIN PURPOSE

This person is responsible for assisting in the implementation of a global LNG ETRM system as well as developing out the LNG system to meet the requirements of the PetroChina group. They will work closely with business analysts and users coordinate with project development team, setting and managing project delivery expectations. The candidate will have a strong background in .Net programming, DevOps, and SCRUM methodology. Knowledge of LNG trading and ETRM implementation or any other relative trading solution experience is beneficial.

PART 3 - JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop bespoke software solutions using .Net C#, SQL Server, and associated technologies.
  • Guide the Development team and ensure coding standards met by all developers.
  • Breaking down technical specification into its simplest elements and translating this logic into code
  • Ensure solution is in line with approved architecture.
  • Distributing development work and day to day management of developers
  • Develop bespoke software solutions using .Net C#, SQL Server and associated technologies centred around our ETRM trading platforms.
  • Chasing down point detail issues on requirements, brokering decisions and achieving consensus
  • Support the creation of a test strategies/cases and execute these.
  • Supporting decision-making around the phased delivery of the solution
  • Assist with change management activities including benefits realisation planning, training and communications.
  • Assist with estimating level of effort involved in future phases.
  • Work autonomously and within a team to deliver technology enabled business change.
  • Evaluating and improvement of system performance
  • Adapting the program to new requirements, as necessary
  • Supporting user acceptance testing to ensure the program works to specification and can be used easily, quickly and accurately
  • Writing detailed documentation for the operation of the program by users and computer operators
  • Handing over solutions to application support
  • Updating, repairing, modifying and developing existing software and generic applications

PART 4 - QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS

Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field preferred

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
  • .Net Framework and .Net C#
  • SQL Server
  • Experience in agile development methodologies
  • Experience with Containerisation, Kubernetes is beneficial
  • Worked in autonomously and in medium to large teams
  • Understanding of small organisations
  • Understanding of energy and commodity trading especially LNG is beneficial.
  • Ideally (but not mandatory) expertise with Planlogic EoS.
  • Any Exposure to shipping management , key Trading, Risk, and product control processes is beneficial
  • Experience of articulating the design to development components is essential
  • They should be able to quickly adapt to and manage the changing priorities of the business and be able to manage business expectations
