Beattock and Moffat Academy Cluster are seeking to appoint an inspiring and determined secondary Principal Teacher Curriculum (STEM Faculty) on a permanent basis.

You will have a key day to day operational role based at Moffat Academy - Secondary. You will also have a cluster wide strategic leadership role as the whole school timetabler, and as an innovative curriculum leader focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (including virtual delivery of qualifications) and our Army Cadets programme - enabling all young people to achieve success both in school and through digital learning platforms.

As a strongly nurture based school cluster, applicants will have a sound understanding and relevant experience in providing high quality universal support to all of our young people and some targeted curriculum support in small intervention groups, all of which would be underpinned by the UNCRC and the highest standards of inclusive practice.

As part of an all through 2 to 18 cluster comprising two nurseries, two primaries and a secondary school, we work closely as a team to nurture and support our young people, families, and community. Our staff strive to deliver an excellent experience of the highest standards to all learners in our beautiful environment. Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act . From 28 February , preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
