About the role

As Business Generation Team Leader within Optimised, you will be part of the New Business Sales team, responsible for identifying and prospecting new companies for Optimised to work with. You will report to the Head of New Business; managing a small team of Executives and New Business sales opportunities.

What you'll actually do

  • Source and manage new lead data, working with senior management to develop lead generation strategies.
  • Identify and qualify 'best client' leads within Optimised target sectors, locate decision makers and further qualify leads to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to better utilise CRM (Hubspot) software,
  • Undertake calls and desktop research to convert leads into opportunity; arranging, preparing and following up appointments.
  • Build and maintain quality client relationships over the phone.
  • Maintain accurate and regular CRM database records of communications with clients/prospects and recycle, eliminate and identify new database leads as necessary to ensure database relevance.
  • Help research, design and promote industry events aligned with sector sales strategies, developing networks to meet with high potential prospects.
  • Utilise selected social media applications - e.g. LinkedIn - on behalf of the company to distribute targeted communications.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with a range of internal stakeholders
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly sales meetings to report on sales activity, wins and losses, and insights that may inform Optimised service range.
  • Actively build market knowledge and understanding of Optimised service lines
  • Lead and develop the people within your team, this may include probation reviews, 1:1s, appraisals and underperformance in line with company expectations and through early intervention, ensuring you seek and give feedback on what works and what does not.
  • Manage and support recruitment, on-boarding, career planning, training and developing your team, including mentoring new and less experienced members.
  • Provide a visible and approachable leadership presence,
  • Initiate and cultivate influential relationships with external stakeholders at senior management level.

What you'll need

  • 2+ years experience within the energy industry.
  • Background in either sales or the energy consultancy environment
  • Strong organisation skills - ability to manage a large number of leads with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic Word and Powerpoint skills
  • Confident speaking on the phone, thinking on your feet in new conversations
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
