Your role and responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as an Accountant in one of the Financial Management Teams that provides key support to directorates to ensure they can deliver their financial responsibilities. This includes advising them on completing financial tasks associated with good financial management, such as budget monitoring and forecasting. 

This is an interesting and diverse role where you will liaise and support budget holders and business support staff in one of the council’s directorates in all aspects of financial management, as well as being an integral part of a supportive team within Finance. The post will be to support the Adult and Community Services directorate but could work flexibly across other financial management teams 

You will need

we are looking for someone who is keen to study the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification as part of an apprenticeship programme. Support will be provided to make this a success. experience of working in Finance as well as good communication skills and a positive attitude. proven ability to maintain accurate records, interpret and reconcile financial information from multiple sources and systems and manipulate data to generate reporting information high levels of literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
