The role

primarily involves supporting children on a 1:1 basis but may include small group learning support so candidates need to be willing to be flexible. Applicants will need to have demonstrable experience within this area of expertise.Essential Qualifications: 5 GCSE including Maths & English, NVQ 3 or equivalent.We are looking for a candidate who:•Understands the learning needs of the child they are supporting and deliver tasks adapted and matched to the way the child learns best •Is able to provide a child with quality learning opportunities to close the gap in their attainment between them and their peers (as appropriate) and improve life outcomes •Has experience and a keen interest in working with and relating to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties •Are caring and positive-minded with a solution focused approach and able to stay calm at all times •Are able to reduce a child’s anxiety by pre-empting situations or giving reassurance at times of worry •Are able to make and use visual aids such as timetables and reward systems with the child •Are able to build positive relationships with parents/carers, school staff and outside agencies and work as part of a team •Will support the Christian values and ethos of the school •Are willing to support children in managing their personal hygiene needs •Are proficient in current computer programs Please note that as part of the safer recruitment process, online searches will be conducted for all applicants who are successfully shortlisted.This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
