Learning Support Assistant at a Special School (Worthing) Are you passionate about making a real difference in children's lives? We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at a special school in Worthing, supporting pupils aged 4-11 with complex needs. Role Details: Job Title: Learning Support Assistant Location: Worthing, West Sussex Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Type: Full-time, Term-time onlyAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working with children who are non-verbal, have autism, or require tube feeding. The children in our school have a wide range of complex needs, and some may exhibit challenging behaviors, including hitting, biting, or attempting to run away. Your role will be to support them with patience, understanding, and a calm approach, helping to create a safe and nurturing environment. What We're Looking For: A patient, empathetic, and caring individual to take on the role of Learning Support Assistant Experience working with children with special educational needs or challenging behaviors (preferred but not essential) A background in care or previous experience supporting individuals with complex needs Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure when dealing with challenging situations Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and staffResponsibilities Include: Assisting teachers in the delivery of individualised education plans as a Learning Support Assistant Supporting pupils in their day-to-day activities and learning Managing challenging behaviors, including physical interventions when necessary, with the support of the wider team Providing personal care and assistance, including tube feeding where required Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment in your role as a Learning Support AssistantWhy Join Us?
