The job itself

Legal and Democratic Services are seeking a Solicitor to work in the Children and Community Services Team.

The post holder will be required to deal with a caseload consisting of advising and representing adult social care services. The post holder will be dealing with all aspects of adult social care including Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act 2014, Court of Protection, deprivation of liberty, safeguarding, coroner’s inquests, tenancy orders and mental health matters. The post holder should have extensive experience in and a thorough grounding in one of more of these areas of legal work. The applicant should be a confident advocate.

Applicants should be enthusiastic and willing to contribute effectively to team working. A willingness to travel to alternative sites and court building for the purposes of supporting the client department and legal processes is necessary. Remote working is also an option subject to the ability to maintain and provide for the needs of the Court and client department.
