As Logistics Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of third-party operations and relationships. Provide the link between all functions and team to ensure seamless delivery of customer and business expectations. Deliver against cost and service KPI's and delivers continuous improvement through review and measure of performance, balancing and leading operational, strategic and project-based activity. Take accountability for all contracted services and tender activity within the logistics operations

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of third-party teams and operations to deliver excellence in Logistic Operations, Planning and Capacity, Fulfilment and Carrier Management
  • Manages and reviews operational performance against agreed key performance indicators, effecting solutions within the day-to-day operational delivery and implementation of appropriate and agreed projects.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with logistics service providers to secure favourable terms and conditions, completed in conjunction with group GNFR procurement.
  • Leads the entire contracted services area within the logistics function, including all tendered activity, e.g. fleet, MHE.
  • Ensures compliance with contractual agreements, monitors and manages key objectives, drives service levels and high performance with 3PL teams.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships and interfaces between functional teams, external parties/3rd parties, peers, other banners, and group to drive collaboration ensuring delivery of our business objectives.
  • Uses industry knowledge and external network insight to deliver high performance through operational excellence, including service and cost metrics.
  • Responsible for ensuring plans for operational demand through both short- and long-term operational requirements are in place that will deliver against forecasted and un-forecasted demands are achieved.
  • Supports the building of strong and compelling business cases for investment, cost management and for endorsement of change programmes. Implements projects and continuous improvements to meet future growth needs.
  • Continuously measures and seeks opportunities for business, functional and operational improvement, maximising sales and capacity, enhancing efficiency, minimising cost and leveraging technology.
  • Nurtures an inclusive culture, creating and leading active engagement plans for the logistics function where all colleagues feel they can belong.
  • Inspires and develops a high performing team through stretching objectives, regular review and constructive feedback allowing colleagues to reach their potential. Builds strong succession plans to address talent gaps enabling the function to achieve future change initiatives


Qualifications

  • Significant operational and contract management experience within Logistics is essential.
  • Experience of working with external providers and 3rd parties.
  • Proven success and track record of delivering in a high volume, retail logistics Network.
  • Operational Planning and strategic delivery
  • Strong team player who uses initiative and diplomacy when liaising with internal and external customers.
  • Able to build, lead and develop a new team ethos.
  • Strong customer-centric focus in orienting around the customer
