Job Description

We are recruiting for a compassionate Children Support Worker to join a great secondary school based in Great Barr. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs, providing them academic and emotional support.



Role Responsibilities:



  • Provide one-to-one or group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), behavioural issues, or emotional challenges.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour.
  • Help and plan deliver intervention sessions for students needing additional support.
  • Liaise with teachers and parents regarding students progress and behaviour.

Requirements



  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, education or support work (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in childcare setting or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an education or care setting is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and support students in their personal and academic development.
