About the apprenticeship

Duties

Work safely in a laboratory environment, which has state of the art equipment.
Maintaining excellent housekeeping whilst following appropriate safety, environment and risk management systems.
Follow quality procedures to meet the requirements of the quality standards.
Prepare for laboratory tasks using the appropriate scientific techniques, procedures and methods eg; chemistry, oxygen, carbon, particle size distribution.
Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration.
Apply scientific techniques for data presentation. Analyse, interpret and evaluate data and identify results requiring further investigation, with support of supervision.
Produce reliable and accurate data and keep accurate laboratory work undertaken and results.

Additional information

The apprentice will be supported from level 3 all the way up to Higher Apprenticeship level.

Requirements

Qualifications

Either attended college full time for the PE02 Engineering or achieved A Levels and has an interest in a career in a laboratory / quality environment within a manufacturing organisation.

Wall Colmonoy will support training and development, up to Degree level study for the right candidate.

Day release and fully funded studies available for the successful candidate.
An interest in science based subjects; with the opportunity to build a career in a laboratory / quality environment.
Ability to analyse and interpret data

Keen to learn and develop new skills, supported by the dedicated and qualified team at Wall Colmonoy.

The ability to work both independently and part of a team.

Attention to detail is important.

Follow safety and quality requirements at all times.
