North Berwick High School is a secondary school in the beautiful coastal town of North Berwick, which received an excellent HMIE inspection report in June 2020. The current school roll is 1052. Expansion work to create more classrooms and improved facilities has recently been completed. Post 1
The successful candidate will be line managed by the Faculty Leaders of Support for Learning and will work across the Guidance and Support for Learning departments as follows:

work with the Guidance team to support our drive to increase school attendance and reduce anxiety, supporting vulnerable learners to engage positively in learning; work within the Support for Learning team, supporting young people directly with assessment arrangements; spend time in our new Learning Hub provision (when launched) supporting an identified cohort to complete National Qualifications.

We are seeking to appoint a compassionate and energetic individual whose values align with the inclusivity of our school and who can demonstrate the importance of support and challenge when working with vulnerable young people.

The successful candidate will be line managed by the Principal Teacher of Equity within the Pupil Support department. Duties will include:

Using data to support our drive to increase school attendance, reduce anxiety and support vulnerable learners to engage positively in learning Communicating with home when young people are habitually late into school or have unexplained absences, building positive and trusting relationships with families and supporting young people to attend school and engage in learning

Spending time in our new Learning Hub provision (when launched) supporting an identified cohort to complete National Qualifications.

Job Details

As part of the Pupil Support Team, provide support to secondary aged pupils (including Pupil Support Base) with a range of social emotional and behavioural difficulties in accordance with agreed aims, objectives and standards.
