Please note that with effect from 1 April , where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30, and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30, per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

The Projects Team is responsible for developing, planning and managing a variety of City Development and Infrastructure Projects which will positively impact the sustainable economic growth of Aberdeen City and its region, particularly in relation to energy and energy transition. Responsibilities of the Project Officer within the Projects Team include the management of projects from conception to delivery. The role is responsible to a Senior Project Officer, City Development.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

• Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline
• Project management qualification (desirable, not essential)

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

• Proven experience in trans-national strategic European projects.
• Proven experience in developing strategy and policy.
• Proven experience in contract management and performance monitoring.
• Strong communication skills with experience in confidently delivering presentations,
leading meetings and handling negotiations
• Successful collaborative working with peers and multicultural teams, and engaging
stakeholders to achieve objectives
• Analysing information to produce concise briefing papers and reports
• Independently managing workload and competing priorities
• Competent user of ICT systems and all MS Office packages
• Experience of working on own initiative, without ongoing direct supervision
