Yeovil, United Kingdom Screwfix Direct Limited Full time
Overview

Screwfix is the UK's leading supplier of trade tools, accessories, and hardware products. We prioritize exceptional service and quality products, fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork.

Reporting to the Director of Operational Finance, you'll implement and embed internal controls, ensuring compliance and mitigating financial risk. You'll coordinate risk management activities, supporting business operations and meeting compliance requirements.

We believe that a hybrid, flexible working approach offers you - and your colleagues - the best of both worlds. Face-to-face collaboration is an integral part of our warm, friendly culture, so you'll work from our head office three days a week, working flexibly around our core working hours of 10am-3pm. Beyond that, how, when and where you work is up to you. With a subsidised canteen, free parking and a comfortable, relaxed environment, we've worked hard to build an office you'll want to work in. We also know that, when it comes to school pick-ups and home deliveries, it's nice to have the flexibility to do both.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual plans to prioritize financial compliance.
  • Champion a robust internal control framework.
  • Coordinate implementation and updates.
  • Serve as the SME, supporting efficient controls and processes.
  • Manage assessments and testing of controls.
  • Ensure consistency with Group policies.
  • Identify and support remediation plans for control deficiencies.
  • Prepare required reports for compliance.
  • Maintain relationships with auditors.
  • Coordinate local and group reporting on risks.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Qualified Accountant with internal controls/risk management experience.
  • Knowledge of SOX.
  • Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to communicate effectively.

What's in it for me?

Join us in a supportive environment where you can make a difference. Competitive compensation and growth opportunities await.
