The Role
Worcestershire Children First have created a new role to support the Education Engagement Team that brings an exciting opportunity within our education services.

We are looking for an Education Absence Monitoring Officer who shares our passion for keeping children and young people at the heart of everything we do, providing a good education for all, and acting in a professional and timely way to protect children from harm whilst supporting and embracing inclusivity and diversity.

About Us
The Worcestershire Children First Education Engagement Team provides many statutory services to all Worcestershire residents for all Worcestershire schools.

This role will be within the part of the team that has the focus of (School and Post 16 Identification) Tracking, Monitoring and Quality.

This includes Absence Monitoring within schools (including identification of children who are unable to attend school due to exclusion, medical needs or other reasons, or on a part-time timetable), Participation Monitoring of the Post 16 cohort (including providing careers advice and guidance to the NEET group), identification of children missing education or elective home education, and provision of Child Entertainment and Employment licenses.

We are seeking an Education Absence Monitoring Officer with a working knowledge or awareness of legislation and guidance relating to attendance and CME to ensure that the statutory responsibilities for children not attending school are met and who will work with Local Area partners, educational providers and colleagues across WCF, to improve outcomes for Vulnerable Learners, specifically those who are unable to attend school.

As an Education Absence Monitoring Officer you will collaborate with the team, other services (both internally and externally), and schools to ensure that those children not in education or not receiving a full-time suitable education are identified and where appropriate prepared for discussion at the weekly CCAS panel, whilst proactively contributing to the continuous improvement of the service.
