We are looking for an Estates Officer (Water) to join our Building Services team on-site in Mansfield at Kings Mill Hospital.

You will work in all aspects of the service delivery at King's Mill, Mansfield Community and Newark Hospitals. You will be expected to manage the water systems maintenance elements of the sites and related activities.

You'll:
  • Manage the requirements for the 'minimisation and control of legionella and other water borne diseases' as responsible person (water) and the Management of Water Distribution systems e.g., monitoring contracts to carry out duties such as the disinfection of water tanks and systems,
  • Be responsible for tests of water supplies for ensuring water control measures are
  • Monitoring of temperatures of Domestic Hot Water and cold water supplies to site and all activities required by legislation and HTMs. Establish a PPM schedule for all water systems.
  • Manage the subcontractors covering the maintenance of designated systems and provide support to existing team members in the delivery of their packages.
  • Represents the Estates Department (and Facilities Directorate) at meetings with other disciplines and when required with external bodies.
  • Assist in the management of Estates direct labour group, external contractors and professionals are required.
  • Establish and maintain contacts within the hospital, with contractors, suppliers and statutory bodies as required to provide high standards of estate care.
  • Manage maintenance subcontractors, monitor PPM completion and to provide technical support to all sections of the maintenance department, as necessary.
  • Participate in the Emergency On-Call Rota.
  • Ensure liaison with enabling functions such as temporary works co-ordination and working at heights.
  • Be Skanska's lead site authority for Water Management as part of the Water Safety Group (WSG)
  • Manage Risk Assessment/re-assessment programmes implementing actions and remedial works in line with findings.
  • Resolve operations issues with the Estates Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Team.
  • Ensure full record keeping in line with relevant legislation and HTMs, including training, events, etc.
We're looking for:
  • Recognised training/qualification in the Management of Water Systems
  • A wide experience and knowledge of the estate's functions within a hospital environment.
  • The ability to communicate, co-operate and motive staff and colleagues at all levels and in all disciplines.
  • Have extensive knowledge and application in line with HTM04.01/L8, etc.
  • HNC or equivalent, or relevant experience and knowledge
  • Good healthcare knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Water Systems and relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for business use.
  • Understanding of the Health and Safety of Work Act 1974
