East Lothian Council seeks to appoint aspirational, inclusive and kind individuals for the position of Additional Support Needs Auxiliary in our specialist provisions to support children and young people with complex needs.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can:

Communicate clearly with children and young people to help reduce any barriers to presence, participation and achievement in school; Work as part of the team around the child, building and maintaining strong relationships in their wider school community; Exhibit the interpersonal skills required to play a full part in safeguarding and nurturing children and young people; Use their initiative and work responsively to meet the needs of the children and young people in their care and Commit to viewing themselves as a lifelong learners, seeking out and taking up opportunities to continually improve their practice
