We're seeking a motivated and experienced marketing professional to join our enthusiastic, high-performing team and contribute to the delivery of an ambitious organisational strategy, which aims to open up our collection of over 170 million treasures - spanning Leonardo da Vinci to Benjamin Zephaniah, Florence Nightingale to Andrea Levy - to everyone. Every day thousands of people use this extensive archive to spark the next big (or small) idea. An award-winning novel. A new business. Or a scientific breakthrough that could change all our lives. And you could help them take that first step.
You will use your strategic planning and campaign expertise to devise and manage the marketing of the Library's growing programmes in the north of England, as well as supporting the Senior Marketing Manager to deliver projects across the Library.
Your campaigns will help to raise our profile as we continue to develop programmes to engage audiences in Leeds and build towards our ambitions to deliver a permanent British Library presence in the city. You'll also run campaigns that celebrate the major capital project underway to expand the facilities in Boston Spa that house our unique collection.
You will have substantial marketing experience, ideally in a relevant environment, with a proven ability to think creatively and use both paid and organic activity to effectively reach target audiences. You'll be comfortable using data to inform and optimise campaigns, and be able to understand and apply data protection regulations to your work. You'll be a natural organiser, juggling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and managing your own budgets. And you will be a confident communicator and collaborator, able to negotiate, influence and build effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.

As one of the world's great libraries, our duty is to preserve the nation's intellectual memory for the future and make it available to all for research, inspiration and enjoyment. At present, we have well over 170 million items, in most known languages, with three million new items added every year. We have manuscripts, maps, newspapers, magazines, prints and drawings, music scores, and patents. We make our collections and programmes available to all. We operate the world's largest document delivery service providing millions of items a year to customers all over the world. What matters to us is that we preserve the national memory and enable knowledge to be created both now and in the future by anyone, anywhere.

Our pension scheme is one of the most valuable benefits we offer, as our staff can become members of the Alpha Pension Scheme where the Library contributes a minimum of 28.97% (this may be higher dependant on grade. Another significant benefit the Library provides is the provision of a flexible working hours scheme which could allow you to work your hours flexibly over the week and to take up to 5 days flexi leave in a 3 month period. This is on top of 25 days holiday from entry and public and privilege holidays.
