London, United Kingdom CBRE Full time
CBRE is recruiting for an External Communications Manager / PR Manager to join our busy External Communications team, reporting into the Head of External Communications & PR.

The role of the External Communications Manager / PR Manager is to help improve the profile and reputation of CBRE, through all external media channels. Working with the Head of External Communications and wider team, this role will develop media relationships which promote and safeguard CBRE's reputation and work closely with the UK business to identify appropriate, value-add media opportunities.

Success in this role rests on the ability to understand the wider media landscape and news agenda, coupled with excellent stakeholder management, to maximise media coverage. The role will help the team to ensure that CBRE is recognised as the industry authority.

The position will be based in our Henrietta House office in London's West End, with a minimum requirement to be in the office of two days per week.

Our mission is to realise the potential in all the businesses and people we work with, so that together we can create the real estate solutions of the future. We are driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of our people and the diverse needs of our clients. From instilling confidence in investors today, to re-imagining space requirements for tomorrow, we thrive in complex and ever-changing environments.

Communications plays a crucial role in this by ensuring CBRE has a prominent voice in the media on issues and topics that matter. We are looking to extend our voice of authority outside of the real estate landscape and position CBRE as a business advisor of choice, helping to build successful client relationships and raise awareness of the CBRE brand.

  • Work with business leads and wider teams to ensure Communications is a world-class function, which sets us apart from our competitors.
  • Develop and nurture exceptional relationships with trade, consumer, national and broadcast media contacts and explore ways to continually improve these.
  • Collaborate effectively with Internal Communications, Marketing and Social Media teams to ensure plans are aligned and stakeholders are supported from end to end.

Planning and delivery

  • Work with the Head of External Communications to develop strategic Communications plans that help deliver business objectives and position CBRE as an expert voice in the media.
  • Work with the Research team to source compelling information, data and trends to create engaging narratives for the media and help identify hot topics.
  • Deploy insight, industry knowledge, business understanding and the results of previous activity to refine recommendations to the business.
  • Write and manage content from conception through to delivery, including press releases, thought leadership, social media posts and blog posts.
  • Create and execute all plans efficiently and look for ways to continuously improve results and output.
  • Maintain the highest standards of output through meticulous proof reading, exemplary brand guardianship, and relentless attention to detail.

Accountability and Team

  • Reporting to the Head of External Communications and working closely with the wider comms team and marketing team.
  • Occasionally help support the team with monitoring coverage, coverage analytics and coverage reports.
  • Work closely with the Internal Communications team to inform internal content.
  • Be the primary respondent to in-bound enquiries in a busy press office environment.
