Environmental Product Compliance Manager Europe

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Individual is responsible for the management of all environmental product compliance (EPC) programs for REACH, SCIP, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, 4MS, PFAS and other such product regulations applicable to the European Watts entities.
- Individual ensures that all European Watts entities are aware of and comply with all environmental product regulations.
- Sets up European programs and closely works with the different functions in the European entities to ensure
- awareness of applicable regulations within entities
- that the necessary actions will be executed timely and correctly to ensure compliance
- Works with counterpart at Watts HQ to ensure global alignment
- Works with external service providers/advisors to be updated on latest EPC developments and also to ensure sub contracted services (e.g. EPC campaigns to suppliers, reporting of data in appropriate databases) are executed properly.
- Operates with some latitude for independent action or decision, reports and reviews progress with management.
- Reports observations/ problems clearly and concisely and takes appropriate action.
- Provides guidance within regulatory affairs, product engineering, technical publications and operations.
- Possess and apply a broad knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks, regulatory requirements, legislation, processes and procedures.
- Demonstrates strong project management, writing, coordination, and execution of environmental compliance tasks, with emphasis on technical activities.
- Assists in SOP development and review.
- Assists in the development and update of strategy based upon regulation and standard changes.
- Determine and communicate environmental requirements and internal processes.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree
- Graduate degree in business (MBA) preferred
MANAGEMENT:
- Reporting structure for site level responsible people and escalation points for non compliance
- The role will report into the VP Sourcing and Logistics EMEA and have dotted line to Ken Nolan.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years
- Computer efficiency – Intermediate level in MS office
- Ability to perform on a strategic and tactical level
- Broad professional experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – English is mandatory
- Strong organizational and planning skills (Project Management); attention to detail is a critical required skill
- Requires ability to multi-task, be detailed oriented and solve problems analytically
- Ability to travel
- Day to day site location – Hybrid; home and UK site
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing duties of the job, employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office working environment
- Noise level is minimal
- Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the shop floor
