Elective Home Education Support Assistant
Joining the Education Quality Assurance, Intervention and Regulation Service will give you an opportunity to be part of an innovative team that makes a difference to the education and safeguarding of children in Norfolk. Details about the role
We are pleased to be recruiting a Support Assistant to the Service. In this role, you will support the Services to Home Education Team and may also support the wider Service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised individual who is efficient, motivated, personable and able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and IT skills. You must have excellent communication skills, demonstrate initiative, work collaboratively with other colleagues and be able to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.

Who you will work alongside:
We are looking for a confident, highly organised and experienced person who can work on their own initiative and across the Elective Home Education Service. This will include working with Advisers and Support Assistants, Attendance and Child Missing Education Officer, schools, social care colleagues and parents and carers to ensure that the Local Authority discharges its statutory duties.
Key skills required
You will need to work on your initiative and make decisions whilst working within the law and by-laws of Norfolk. We are looking for a confident, highly organised and experienced person who can drive improvement to our processes and procedures and offer appropriate support to colleagues.
All Support Assistants within the Education Quality Assurance Intervention and Regulation Service are trained to be able to cover for other Support Assistant colleagues. Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new skills, are key to this role.
Safeguarding statement
Job holders will be expected to understand what is meant by safeguarding vulnerable groups (children, young people and adults) and how to raise concerns.
Working pattern / hours
18.5 hours a week – worked over 2.5 days (Weds half day, all day Thurs and Friday)
