We are seeking to appoint three 37hrs & one 33.5hrs Social Workers to join our energetic and dynamic Ageing Well team in Gedling district.

Gedling is passionate about supporting local people and communities to live independent, healthy lives in their own homes.

As a valued member of the team, you will receive an excellent induction, good support and access to developmental and training opportunities.

You will be working in an fast pace and sometimes challenging environment in close partnership with external agencies and providers, which will require high levels of confidence and independence.

As a qualified Social Worker, you will be registered with Social Work England, have a good understanding and experience of the application of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and other key policies directing and underpinning adult social care.

Key functions & duties include:

Managing a varied workload Working creatively with adults who have care and support needs and will bring a commitment to the principles of strength-based practice, promoting independence and wellbeing whilst safely managing risks. Undertaking Strengths Based Conversations, Support Planning & Mental Capacity Act Assessments with people and their care givers and relevant family members. Work in partnership – with a focus on integration with NHS, Community Health Services, Housing and community assets and groups to support people. Being active in supporting the Duty System on a rota basis Playing an active role in Team Meetings, Huddles, and other forums to support and foster a culture of collaborative decision making and peer to peer support.

You will need to have effective communication, negotiation, organisational and IT skills which are essential tools to aid developing flexible working practices.

Advanced remote working technology is provided to maximise efficiency, minimise travel and support work/life balance. The team has adapted hybrid working, where you will be partly office and partly home based.

You will receive regular supervision both formal and informal and will be supported to attend training to progress your career. There will be opportunities to expand your knowledge and support/ (contribute to) the learning culture within the team, based on your strengths and career aspirations.

In return, you will receive support and training to help you reach your potential.

Candidates must be able to drive and have use of a vehicle for work purposes (a taxi service will be provided where disability precludes this) and registered with Social Work England.
