This is a rewarding role which involves managing a staff team of accommodation support workers, who work face to face with some of the most in need people in our society: Manchester's homeless community. The role also involves managing the day to day running of the project and reporting directly to the Team Leader. The Longford Centre and other inhouse temporary accommodation sites, support Manchester's homeless residents temporarily, whilst longer term accommodation is sourced. The sites have mixed temporary accommodation for homeless adults with low to medium support needs. Accommodation can be offered to both single applicants and those part of a couple. The HLO would support the Team Leader in looking at referrals, completing move on plans for residents and managing the staff team.

This is an extremely rewarding but also at times challenging role which offers excellent opportunities for knowledge building and training. The rota involves both day and evening shifts and occasional weekend work, so there is a 6.7% flexibility payment for this. The HLO would also be part of an on-call rota, and respond to out of hours emergencies where necessary.
