About the GLAA

The GLAA is one of the principal investigative law enforcement bodies for labour exploitation in the UK. The GLAA ensures that workers in the UK are treated fairly, properly and are protected from abuse and exploitation. We have three core functions:
Regulation - We regulate businesses that provide workers to the horticulture, agriculture, shellfish gathering and food processing and packaging sector. Our regulatory work includes operating a licencing scheme, undertaking inspections to ensure compliance with that scheme, and taking enforcement action where there are breaches.Prevention � We work with a broad range of stakeholders locally, nationally, and internationally to help prevent workers from being exploited.Enforcement - We investigate allegations of worker abuse under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. GLAA Officers conduct civil and criminal investigations and take enforcement action, including prosecutions and court orders to disrupt criminal activity. We also support victims who have been abused, in particular by ensuring they can access specialist help from our partners.Job description
�As an Intelligence Officer your duties will include :�
Proactively researching, risk assessing, analysing and developing information received in order to produce timely, relevant and detailed National Intelligence Model (NIM) related intelligence products. Such products will include strategic and tactical operational or problem profiles.Proactively logging, grading and indexing intelligence.Preparing actionable intelligence led packages for consideration by the GLAA Tasking and Coordination process.Administer/support the GLAA Tasking and Other Government Department (OGD) check process as required.Developing and maintaining effective channels of communication both internal and external to the GLAA, including with law enforcement agencies, other Government Departments and new sources of information.Using prescribed guidance documentation, initiate and respond to requests for information to or from other agencies, ensuring that such requests are lawful, accurate and proportionate.Disseminating intelligence products internally and to partner agencies as appropriate in accordance with Authorised Professional Practice (APP) and relevant legislation.Maintaining accurate records of all work undertaken in order to produce reports and statements to a high evidential standard. These may be for presentation in a Court of law (Civil or criminal case proceedings).Discussing and presenting pertinent cases of note at team briefings or meetings.Producing a weekly intelligence summary for presentation at the Weekly Management MeetingWorking with Senior Field Intelligence Officers, providing support to operations and investigationsUndertake any other reasonable duties that may be required by the GLAA ( that are commensurate with the grade of the role)We are currently underrepresented by female, transgender, non binary, ethnic minority and disabled colleagues, and are keen to change this, so welcome applications from all parts of the communities we serve.

This is a Part Time ( FTE) post - the post holder will be required �to work each Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday (AM).

Essential criteria
Experience of working in an intelligence led organisation.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment either independently or as part of a team.Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.Excellent attention to detail to ensure records are accurate.Excellent research and analysis skills.Strong communication skills (both oral and written).IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Desirable criteria
Experience in handling confidential information.Ability to consider risk and initiate an appropriate response.Good practical working knowledge and application of relevant regulatory requirements and legislation (including but not limited to the Data Protection Act).Practical Experience in the preparation and presentation of NIM related analytical products ( Problem/Tactical/Subject profiles).All offers are subject to satisfactory references, DBS, security clearance (SC) and police vetting (NPPV).
