Senior Investment Risk Analyst
Job Description
The Senior Investment Risk Analyst role is crucial in supporting the company's expansion of its funded reinsurance business globally and achieving key investment goals: delivering attractive risk/return outcomes and ensuring alignment with long-term liability cashflow profiles for effective risk management. The main responsibilities include:
- Oversight of critical market risks (primarily rates and FX) and liquidity management within an asset-liability management process covering diverse regulatory environments.
- Enhancement of credit risk frameworks to accommodate the firm's evolving needs with structured/private assets.
- Development of scenario and stress testing frameworks for market, credit, and liquidity risks to enhance existing capabilities.
Market & Liquidity Risk Oversight
- Contribute to the development of Asset Liability Management, FX, and Liquidity management frameworks.
- Manage data collection and produce monthly investment risk management information (MI) reports, identifying any breaches of risk appetite.
- Support the implementation of liquidity management frameworks and monitor liquidity headroom.
- Assess asset liability management strategies, hedge effectiveness, and market risk appetites.
- Ensure operational readiness for compliance with key regulations related to investment risks.
- Contribute to enhancing investment risk management processes and methodologies.
- Document updates to associated risk policies and limits.
- Analyze credit risk for private/structured assets to inform risk appetites and on-going management.
- Evaluate liquidity considerations for investments in private/less liquid assets.
- Quantify credit risk, aggregate exposures, and align credit risk assessments with the overall risk management framework.
- Support strategic investment and market risk initiatives across business lines.
- Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses for market, liquidity, and credit risk assessments.
- Develop stress analysis capabilities to assess potential crisis implications.
- Provide analysis for annual regulatory reporting, including asset risk scenario analysis.
- BSc required, CFA/FIA or equivalent status desirable.
- 5+ years of actuarial or investment experience with asset liability management responsibilities.
- Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and drive change.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset.
- Understanding of insurance cash-flow components and frameworks.
- Experience with a variety of insurance products and economic capital techniques.
- Knowledge in ERM frameworks, mentoring, and project management.
