This is a student facing role, as such you must be willing to work from our central London Office and Campus. Working from home may be possible on some days, with Line Manager approval.
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced information services professional to join our library team in our London office. As Library Specialist, you will be responsible for LIBF's library and information services. In addition to line-managing the library team, you will ensure that both the online and on-campus library services meet the needs of students, academics and staff, and evolve as technologies advance and requirements change.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering LIBF e-library and on-campus services
- Line management of the library team
- Ensuring that students, academics and staff are appropriately supported by resources
- Undertake and support the ongoing development of library resources and services
- Design, deliver and support a range of coaching, development and training opportunities
- Ensure we have the processes and guidance to provide excellent customer support
- Maintain and grow knowledge and experience in the latest thinking in academic library service delivery
You will be highly self-motivated, able to check and manage your own work, whilst building strong relationships and collaborating with colleagues across multiple teams. An open and agile mindset and a willingness to embrace change will be crucial, as will strong problem-solving and customer service skills. As a confident presenter, you will be adept at engaging and motivating students at different levels to develop their information skills.
