Job description

The HSBC Derivative Clearing Service business is looking to expand its sales support team. HSBC services some of the largest global institutional customers, including asset managers, hedge funds, banks and corporations. The DCS business is seeking a sales support team member to join its Clearing Origination Sales team in London.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Strong understanding of ETD and OTC Client Clearing offering, CCPs and Derivative Trade life cycle (Listed Derivatives and OTC Products (IRS & CDS)
  • This role is within the Derivatives Clearing Services (DCS) Sales team in London and is responsible for supporting both the new DCS business pipeline and the existing customer portfolio. The scope of the role spans ETD and OTC Client Clearing. Duties will include ongoing customer service management, gathering of customer specific requirements and supporting customer/industry marketing events, including:
  • Assisting with client portfolio analysis to estimate the initial margin impact and costs of clearing for clients
  • Acting as a single point of contact for resolution of client and internal queries
  • An important element of the role is to understand and provide business cases for client requirements and to prioritize within the overall product development book of work.
  • HSBC is looking to hire an Associate/Associate Director for the role. The role will be based in London and report into the regional DCS Sales structure
  • Team player and dependable - able to back-up accounts and provide seamless coverage when desk is short-handed
  • Possess self-awareness and confidence to work independently and take responsibility for your own development
  • Support the growth of the clearing capability of the business to ensure delivery of initiatives
  • Maintain connectivity with DCS Sales, Support Functions and internal stakeholders
  • Deliver fair outcomes for HSBC's customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Assist with the implementation of e-based solutions
  • Complete other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years Clearing experience with sell side firm or CCP organisation
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Solid work ethic, a motivated self-starter needing little direction, with a strong focus on customer service
  • Ability to connect with key stakeholders at various levels
  • Attention to details and strong follow-through.
