The Biomedical Teaching Organisation (BMTO) is seeking to appoint a full-time Student Support Administrator to join the Student Support Team.

The Opportunity:

As a member of the Biomedical Teaching Organisation (BMTO) Student Support Team, you will provide administrative support to the BMTO Student Advisers, Student Support Manager, Directors of Student Support (UG) and (PGT), Cohort Leads and other key professional services and academic staff involved in student support roles. You will act as a first point of contact for initial student support related enquiries, including in-person enquiries at BMTO Student Support Reception, answering queries and escalating, as circumstances require as well as assisting in supporting various key student events.

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week). You will be based in the Hugh Robson Building Annex, 15 George Square . This is a campus-based role as there will be a reception element therefore the post holder must be available to work on campus.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week). As this is a student front facing role, the successful candidate would be expected work on campus full time.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Educated to Higher level (or vocational equivalent) and some previous experience in a face-to-face frontline support or similar OR equivalent experience in a face-to-face frontline support or similar role.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including skills in communicating effectively and diplomatically in person and in writing to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to calmly and quickly assess situations and circumstances and to decide on the most appropriate action.
  • Proven ability to deal with people sympathetically while maintaining boundaries.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and personal information with tact and confidentiality and within requirements of data legislation.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.

£27,979 to £32,332 per annum
