History is a popular subject at Copthall, attracting students of all abilities. Results at GCSE are compare favourably with attainment nationally and 75 % of students achieved a grade B or above. The department looks to enrich the students' knowledge and understanding with extra-curricular trips and speakers. The department continually strives to reflect on its pedagogical approach and often contributes to school-wide teaching and learning CPD. Geography is a very popular subject at Copthall and the department achieves excellent GCSE and A Level results. The uptake for all disciplines within the Geography department are good at Key Stage 4, and they include the teaching of GCSE: Geography..
