ABOUT THE ROLE

The Reaching Wider team are seeking to recruit appoint an Events Coordinator to support the team in delivering a range of engagements for Year 5 to Year 11 pupils across South West Wales. The Events Coordinator will join an established team delivering the University's Reaching Wider Strategy.

Reaching Wider aims to facilitate the entrance of people from less well represented backgrounds into Higher Education. This initiative is led by Swansea University, located in Student Life and works in partnership with Universities, local education authorities, primary and secondary schools and FE colleges in the South West Wales region. The Events Coordinator will be responsible for delivering a programme of engagements designed to raise awareness, build skills and knowledge about higher education and support attainment in targeted young people across the South West Reaching Wider Partnership. The post will involve working primarily with school pupils in Years 6 to Year 11 with a focus on delivering STEM based engagements alongside our wider programme.

Candidates must possess experience in a similar role, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to reflect the role requirements.

WELSH LANGUAGE SKILLS

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
