Dunlop Oil & Marine is a world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of hoses for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, for both offshore and onshore based operations.

Manage a preventative and reliable maintenance program for the site, ensuring efficient, on-target production by maintenance and investment in new assets (Capex). Support the team in ensuring optimum utilisation of engineering staff and equipment within budgets and compliance to ContiTech Plant Synchronisation and the Company's Safety Quality and Environmental policies.

Co-ordinate R&M Facility Management and project activities across the sites while recognising opportunities for synergies and cost saving.

Duties and responsibilities

Ensure that all engineering and maintenance functions are managed efficiently in a sound economic way and in compliance with national and international regulations, and to customer satisfaction.

Continually improve the efficiency of the resources within the engineering/maintenance department, implementing the adoption of best working practice and engineering/maintenance methods by applying CBS methods and training measures.

Plan and implement processes ensuring investment including annual and long term Capex and Maintenance programs as well as general tools and devices are met according to standards (machines, automation, tech, utilities e.g. steam generation).

Design and implement factory processes, plant layout, automation projects, simulation in all areas ensuring the best ergonomic practices are followed according to lean principles and standards.

Design, implementation, installation, start-up, validation and handover of all equipment, tools, including IT and devices (hardware, software – plc, MES, MSB ....).

Manage site contractors to ensure safe working practices are applied and work is carried out within terms of reference, budget and time scales.

Operate production performance monitoring and feedback to ensure continuous improvement in terms of reliability, downtime, machine induced quality problems and operational efficiency (strategy, equipment, KPIs – cost, lead time, scrap, waste, energy consumption, OEE ....).

Ensure that building and services are maintained to an acceptable level and within budget.

Manage the implementation and development of a preventative maintenance program (electrical, mechanical, IT ...) as well as of building and infrastructure according to required standards (TPM) to maximise utilisation and minimise downtime and cost.

Develop and implement a plan for housekeeping and waste disposal.

Develop and implement a training and development program for the Engineering, Facility, Maintenance and Capex functions to ensure they are adequately trained, supervised, motivated and developed to meet the on-going needs of the business.

Develop and encourage continuous improvement culture within the functions.

Develop and maintain a knowledge management system.

Develop and maintain effective communication within and with other departments, ensuring that everyone is kept informed of the department and business performance and their impact on it.

Experience Required

Minimum 3 years managerial experience in a similar role.

Success in challenging existing situations, implementing improvements and bringing about effective change.

Proactive and self-motivated to lead from the front and drive the business forward.

Overcoming resistance to change and making the most of the team.

Leading projects.

Knowledge Required

H&S, Environmental standards and legislative regulations and standards.

Project Management tools and techniques.

Trouble shooting and problem-solving techniques.

Change management and lean manufacturing methodologies.

Preventative maintenance techniques.

Engineering degree.

Ability to motivate and lead teams.

Good communicator and motivator.

Possess a personal presence, able to demand respect from a workforce.

Self motivation with the ability to drive through results.

Friendly, persuasive and assertive, able to achieve results through a logical and systematic approach.

Computer literate in MS office.
